  1. converting iodide to iodine, as well as t4 to t3, requires copper…iodine mimics ceruloplasmin's conversion of reactive ferrous iron to ferric iron allowing it to be bound for circulation, but this is a coping mechanism for those with low bioavail copper and has negative results as described in the handbook manual/faq for therootcauseprotocol…each lef iodide tab has 99mg of iodine which is an extremely high amount and not recommended once a week…try reducing oxidized/rusty plaque by decreasing the burden of excess unbound iron with regular whole blood donations which also reduce viscosity, oxidized ldl, blood pressure and circulation demands, liver function, epo, wound healing, etc…increase Cu, Cp, Mg and retinol to regulate and recycle iron, which is the leading source of oxidative stress, ROS and inflammation, plus they're needed for metabolism and oxidases…what about a calciun score based on ultrasound?

  2. Hard to believe that someone as smart as Ben could be so misinformed about the Carnivore diet. Too many things to list here but a few…. Vit A (Retinol) only found in animal products, Vit C is present in fresh meat, in sufficient quantities because it is not competing for glucose receptors, no reports of scurvy or other vit C deficit in Carnivores. Ketones are Butyrate systemically produced so no need for fiber. Grass fed meat is loaded with Phytonutrients, there are over 42000 unique compounds in meat, that are not considered. Calcium is present again in sufficient quantities in muscle meat, because absorption skyrockets on Carnivore, and it is necessary for muscle to function. I could go on and on. The only true statement he made is that it could interfere with social gatherings, but that is just not important if you value your health, you could make that argument about abstaining from alcohol etc etc

  3. Thank you, Ben! I'm a 57 year old with a high calcium score. I have resisted statins. I appreciate you sharing this follow up from your NEXT visit around medications. I was wondering if you would cave on the medications. I will probably do the same. I'm wondering if you are using vitamin K2 and if so, what dose/combination with D3? I have been taking 4 grams of K2 per day after hearing Patrick Theut's story on YouTube. I don't know if you have seen his stuff – took his very high calcium score to zero. THANKS, BEN!

  4. Hey Ben, I like this perspective in you from this podcast. Its very human, thanks for sharing ✌and I am really looking forward to your new book. Boundless is sincerely a favorite of mine, thanks man.

  5. I really appreciate this episode. I am 66, have always reveled in my HDL to triglyceride ratio @ 1-1.3 and ignored my frighteningly high LDL at near 200 mg/dL. But then I suffered an “event” not in my heart but in an artery that supplies blood to the intestines, pancreas etc. Almost died and came close to the death of some of my colon. I’m not overweight, I eat pretty darn well, and had no symptoms. I’m jumping in to the statin camp, looking to get a CT angiogram, and perhaps other drugs to reduce my plaque burden-and hoping it’s not too late. Thank you Ben for this comprehensive content.
