  3. I tapered for 2.5 years and the withdrawals lasted the entire time and about 18months after that last little bit.
It is brutal but so worth it.

  4. Detox does not work. I have two therapists but of course I have had TS for 68 years if you could help me I would be surprised. I have taken Xanax and cymbalta . I searched for 30 years for anything that works .These two are only have worked. There is nothing worse than TS. People don’t really know the pain of TS.

  5. Please, a question. I stopped taking clonazepam and I just feel that I can’t focus as much but other than that I’m ok. The nutritionist asked me to take gaba – 2 caps every night. Will that help? Anyone has experiences this change?

  6. I’m under medical supervision. It’s been 4 days that I just carry it around in case I have a panic attack. Is it possible for me to get this symptoms? Listening to this was scary and triggering 😢

  7. Excellent video, Doctor B! I am currently being tapered off of opiates. I was at one time on 430mg. of Oxycodone daily. Also, I have been on Xanax for 20 years. I have been tapered slowly and expertly by a humane physician. This Dr. has brought me from 430mg. down to 110mg./day. It has taken three years to get to this point, but any other way, as the Dr. said, "Would be a surefire path to relapse, probably seeking street drugs to compensate." Of course she is right. (She is not the Dr. who had me on 430/day, and that Dr. has the best intentions, he knew he was treating not only horrible chronic pain from a terrible near death accident where a truck ran over my car, an 18 wheeler, necessitating several surgeries and much more, but also now an addict) I have severe PTSD and OCD due to extreme childhood trauma, abuse and neglect. Psychological terrorism and with a sexual component. A parent, but the other parent was also culpable, knowing full well what was going on but too weak to challenge his wife. Even on 430mg. Oxycodone/day I tolerated the 3mg. Xanax extremely well. My fear is that when at the end and my doctor is retiring in a year, although she said she is looking for an addiction specialist to hand me over too, that Dr. will not want me on the benzo because of the many who abuse it with narcotics. I have a long track record of being on narcotic pain relievers and Xanax with no troubles.
If it was put to me, "Choose, it's either the mandated 90/mme (which in my case would be 60mg. Oxycodone/day) or stay on the Xanax." I'd have to choose Xanax and live in the pain my many injuries cause me. Sorry for the novel length here, I appreciate the humane approach you have for all who are in similar predicaments. Thank you.

  8. The way you talk Doctor radiates confidence and interest in the subject of investigation. It seems you're not the kind of doctor who is willing to shoot out perscription left and right, which is noble. Keep up the Good work, much love

  9. Will a Psychiatrist help me if a doctor prescribed Ativan but only for sleep and massive panic attacks only? I only take 1mg a night. I see a psychiatrist on the 22nd. I am interested in battling insomnia only. I was given it because I was at the last edge of my sleep… I hadn't slept for 4 months. I ensure my parents are protecting the supply. I am not seeking it for addictive behavior. I have Major Depressive Disorder
    Recurrent
    Severe
Generalized Anxiety Disorder and the only medicine that helped me for sleep was Ativan. My family doctor saw i was at my wits end (I was unable to feed myself, my parents had to feed me and take me to my family doctor) and he said this is the best option right now until you see a Psychiatrist.

  10. I've been on benzos since 2012. I've been doing a very slow taper for about 2 years. I currently am on 1/2 the amount of medication I was on during my peak of benzo therapy and figure it's going to be 2 plus years before I'm off them. . Slow taper has worked fine for me. Although I'm feeling occasional withdrawal effects, it's not a nightmare and I'm able to work and function.

  11. My brother is in withdrawals from klonopin and he has become schizophrenic, the voices don’t let him taper, sleep or do anything worthwhile with his day, they have made him very aggressive and seems like he has lost himself and his mind. this is so tough he wants
To heal and has begun the work but half way through the symptom of schizophrenia has come up and has made him inaccessible, anyone else faced this situation ?

  12. Bravo! Very true, Taper works for me. From 5mg/d now to 1mg/d in 6months. I had a very good time, learning step by step my returning clear vision and emotions to love and beeing part of me again. ld say l feel great! Greeting from Suisse🇨🇭

  13. Hi Dr. B. I want you to know how truly valuable your channel is to me. I have been on high doses of Benzos since 1994. For about 20 years, I was talking Xanax 6mg's. I asked my doctor to change me to Klonipin. I'm now on 2mg 4 x's a day. As far as generic Klonipin goes, I've tried two different types because I'm trying to find what works best for me. I've tried Teva and I'm not sure what drug company makes it, but it had an odd shaped V on one side. Neither one seems to be working very well. All over the internet, everyone say the Teva is the best, but every person who wrote about it was only talking about the 1 mg. Would you be able to recommend a generic brand that your Patients say work the best. Thank you very much. God bless you.

  14. Switch to Librium! It stays in the bloodstream longer and it makes it so much easier to continue to taper down and eventually get off benzos for good or a least take a Librium occasionally. It is so important to find a great health care provider. Someone with knowledge of benzo withdrawal. There are understanding providers out there, but many do not want to be bothered. I pray that everyone gets the help they need in Jesus' Name. 🕊️❤✝️❤️‍🩹

  15. Ask your doctor if you can immediately switch to Librium. I tapered down from 4mg of Xanax for almost a year to under one mg. After I got down to .5 mg and went into a severe withdrawal that was in hell for two weeks and it never ended. I completed early withdrawal and acute withdrawal. However I was having a protracted withdrawal. I had severe psychosis, brain-gut pain, no sleep, suicide ideation, and many other horrible side affects too numerous to mention. I just wanted to die. I asked my husband to shoot me. I ran through a door and was running into a forest before I was caught and sent to the emergency room. That emergency room staff did not help at all, I was given a Valium shot by a psychiatrist. Before I left the hospital, I started feeling horrible. I was standing, walking, and jumping for hours. I then went to another emergency room later that evening. Finally a PA gave me Librium. I took two Librium every four hours until it built up in my bloodstream, then took Librium PRN. I also was given Hydroxyzine to sleep. It was a miracle that I found my old PA in practice nearby, she gave me aftercare. She prescribes a few Librium a month. I can go as long as two weeks without taking any Librium. There is a study that the hospital PA used, it was about Xanax-addicted people put in jail. They were given no Xanax tapering, just switched to Librium, then given an occasional Librium pill as needed. Now almost two years later I feel completely normal. I had blood work panel performed, it showed my thyroid was under performing. I was prescribed Levothyroxine which took care of all of the issues that I had that before and during benzo treatment. I occasionally take a Librium, but it's very rare. I am now living a full and normal life without the fear of protracted Benzo withdrawal symptoms.

  16. When i had kidney stone surgery i decided to not to take benzo since i took it for over 10yrs so i wanted to quit while at the hospital and man i had two weeks of the worst headaches ever! They even gave me morphine and nothing helped benzo is a hell of a drug

  17. You really should be giving people hope and support instead of scaring them to death. Acknowledging the real withdrawal symptoms is great and i appreciate that but at the same time the last thing you want to do to Someone reeking refuge is to scare the living daylights out of them. Im asking you kindly DONT DO THIS. Focus on helping people instead of constantly describing all of the hellish and frightful symptoms of coming off.
