  1. Thank you, Marcel. I also believe Dr. Sinclair means only well for humanity. If people spend their life in just showing someone in bad light, I suspect the agenda is something else. Dr. Sinclair wrote a book, made zillion videos just to educate us on Science and possibilities with these supplements. He also recommended fasting and other natural things we can do to live a healthy life by giving so many examples and also treating his own father and sharing it with us. I mean well for Dr. Sinclair and hopefully the bad industries are not coming together to crush him with employing influencers and also commentors (Yes this scandal happened very recently in Pet Industry for diet causing DCM, they employed whole bunch to create FB group and pass bad comments to bring down well meaning small pet food companies because the bad pet food industry want to feed cancer causing food to our pets while people like Judy Morgan, Karen Becker were supporting the fresh food for dogs) So no sir, I do not believe if there are a bunch of bad comments supporting all at once so we can read and get misguided. Thank you.

  2. I don't care for Sinclair, whether NMN is the real deal and not a placebo effect remains to be actually proven. I'm talking about rock solid irrefutable proof that the claims being made about it are real and I'm sorry but the actual science on that is NOT in yet no matter how much one wants to believe in it

  3. would you put your health and longevity to this regular guy just promoting nmn or better yet listen to doctors or phd's…this guys is a classic snake oil salesman for sure

  4. Great comments and discussion. I use both NMN with Resveratrol and find it works as advertised therefore I’m not willing to change something that seems to be working. They need a supplement stack study to verify scientifically the synergistic effects.

  5. Sorry…he does not get a pass. Smith Kline bought his Resveratrol company and could never replicate his research on it. I will say it again….could not replicate his research. No pass given and do not trust him.

  6. Thank you, Marcel, for providing perspective through your video. Sinclair has significantly contributed to our community, not least by raising awareness about aging, and in my view, he's done much more. Clearly, he, like all of us, is not without faults. He has made numerous mistakes. I'm not aware of the specifics regarding any lab misconduct he's accused of, and it seems accurate information is hard to come by.

It's regrettable that he hasn't addressed every issue, leaving room for others to speculate. For instance, the claim that he received 720 million, as Stanfield suggested, doesn't align with the facts as I understand them. He mentioned owning only a small percentage of the company, which, after considering how venture capital and taxes work, likely means he earned significantly less.

He never defamed anybody… I would at least give him that.

Regardless, our role involves critically evaluating his contributions (including, in my situation, researching NNM, quercetin, etc.) and adapting them as necessary. We bear the responsibility of scrutinizing and applying this information thoughtfully."

  7. I have to note that in the world of science vs nature in the supplement arena in general, detractors, using scientific study results, often fail to consider the positives. "Scientific" studies of pharmaceuticals are suspect, as they are ostensibly done by third-party labs, but then we see information that claims those studies are paid for by the pharmaceutical companies who make the drugs.

I am over 80. I have what science regards as an incurable rare health condition which causes a wide array of symptoms. All my life i have reacted very badly to pharmaceuticals, so i have researched thoroughly to find herbs and supplements to help. If i show my supplement list to doctors they are disparaging to me. But those supplements have made a huge difference to me. In one instance, have saved my life. So – i am treated badly by the medical world for doing what the medical world could not do for me and i have to pay them for that. I think that's wrong. There is a valid place for controlling substances and a valid place for public access to natural supplements, subject to safety regulations.

My point is that, if they deem natural products as pharmaceuticals, it will limit access to all of us who cannot depend on doctors and who cannot pay exorbitant drug costs. Yes, some people die from misusing supplements. But look up how many people per year die from pharmaceuticals vs how many die from natural products. (That are known. ) 😊

  8. The problem with going to the FDA, congress and the legal system to resolve this is that those entities have already been trained to cater to money and the corporations. It's demonstrable in so many ways. One can only hope a fair judge would be found. We are so indoctrinated in the system we have now for so long that we don't see it anymore.

I truly appreciate your reasonable, public-oriented thought process. If only those in the legislature and courts were that sincere we would have a better chance.

  9. His own cporiginal co researcher quit his association with sinclair and called him a snake oil salesmen. He distanced himself years ago. Now he wants nithing to do with him. You are changing the subject. No one is ridiculing nmn just the liar sinclair.

  10. Keep feeling like I should say something, but not sure how to be diplomatic about it. I will try my best.

Anyhooowww… so resveratrol has been proven to be basically useless. No scientist could reproduce his results. This is a pure fact. Now onto the NMN stuff. It has been overhyped it does help a bit for a few things as any form of B3 would. Is it truly the magical all purpose lifespan extending elixir Sinclair claims it is/was the answer is 100% no. It does help with a few things but not to the degree that Sinclair said it does. Lastly this sudden explosion was a last straw for many over a statement Sinclair made over a so called NAD booster for dogs (not nmn or nr but another form). It was patently false and proven to be the opposite of good in several cases. This seems to be the last straw for many and so some folks resigned over it because it seems it could actually cause harm. Finally yesterday Sinclair resigned as president of The Academy for Health & Lifespan Research. ….

Long story short its become hard for his peers to trust him because he is either grossly incompetent or just plain lying. Now he has been caught in some lies over time so its probably the latter. Either way if you can't trust him its hard to put trust in what he says as it seems he is more often wrong then he is right …

…and finally your videos are about personal anecdote not about real fact. Its likely you are gleening some benefits from some of what you take but the lions share of your improved health was simply in cleaning up your lifestyle. Stanfield on the other hand just layed out actual factual information that anyone with the time on their hands can find. I never understood the resveratrol thing it seemed to me when people (even stanfield) were talking about it that it might in fact be harmful esp in the doses that people were taking (it scared the crap outa me so..). And if me a retired (now long ago) person with little to no effort and not even having to pay to get over paywalls can find information anyone can. As for NMN and NR it has some effects on older adults like over 60 because of what it is … but its not the magical elixir of life (like Sinclair wants you to believe so you can buy his extra special pattented formula one day for 10 times as much as it should be because… research.. money spent..drug words here…)

Is any of Sinclairs research valid? Well the only way you will know that is to check on reproducability and the simple truth of the matter .. is that a good portion of his research is mysteriously not reproducable. So maybe some is? but from where I stand is most of it is not.. and his pattern of saying stupid false stuff has not ended with resveratrol.

  11. i think Stanfield did an excellent and factual video. he is a doctor, not only a supplement user/video maker (no knock meant). Stanfield documented everything he said, and the timeline. trying to soft pedal analysis of sinclair is deleterious to anyone interested in this issue. you've said exactly as much, except tried to moderate your 'tone'. i disagree with that type of approach. nothing adds to confusion then soft pedaling what i see as fraudulent and self-aggrandizing behaviour.

  12. Dr Stansfield is an MD – he is a primary care physician in a clinic. Dr Sinclair is a researcher who heads a lab at Harvard. May be he is a very smart conman to have fooled Harvard into appointing him as professor, and a smart conman to have fooled his peers when they published his coauthored articles. Big companies buy promising startups all the time – some work out and some don’t. That’s the nature of R&D and innovation.

  13. Hi Marcel, I moved to NMN powder from DO NOT AGE eventually. It was never clear how much NMN I'd recieve in introductory offer. It was 100 grams…… so it has worked out at €1 a day.(incl. delivery to Ireland). I'm thrilled with taking a gram a day with some TMG. Forgot to use your discount, but i will when reordering. Thanks Marcel.

  14. I hear you but David Sinclair knew what he was doing the entire time it's called the all mighty dollar. Sinclair is a piece of shit only looking out for his best dollar interests

  15. NMN should be available at every walmart for like 10$ Sinclair did nothing but make that further away from reality dude is an awful person, He probably already has enough money to be happy he's just greedy, while I dont know about NMNs effects because im under the age that it could have a real benefit I am happy to see its helping you and others although I am a bit skeptical about its long term health impacts I just hope its all good and everyone can take NMN after a certain age and live a better quality of life while living longer that would be the best

  16. Why this video doesn't discuss Dr Stanfield claims about resveratrol or NMN, that question their health benefit to human health and life span.
If in many clinical trials, there found no benefits at all (both for resveratrol and nmn), and even in some cases its can even make your health worse, (e.g.: when you take 1 gram of NMN daily, it can also make your health worse, and risk for CVD),
why you continue to promote them? just because you feel great when you take them? do you think it makes you look younger than 60+? are these really measure benefits?

  17. At the outset of this video, you mentioned your disbelief in life extension. Can you elaborate on your reasoning?

With the advancement of AI, there's potential for extending and even reversing aging in the future, though admittedly, there are no certainties.

While we all advocate for healthy aging and making positive lifestyle choices, I argue that our efforts shouldn't stop there.

None of us relish the idea of growing old, but while we maintain a grounded perspective, expecting only incremental scientific advancements to aid in aging gracefully, I believe this outlook may be overly pessimistic.

Just because halting or reversing aging poses significant challenges doesn't render it impossible.

  18. This endless polemic is really starting to annoy me. It is childish and I am over 40 years old having to listen to kids bickering on a playground.

He said this, he said that, … and please understand me, I appreciate what Marcel is doing, but he too must be getting drawn into kiddy kiddy land.

Can the Longevity space please mature dear God?

  19. Until proven otherwise my assessment is that David Sinclair is NOT trustworthy. He meets the definition of a conman so I can see no point in whitewashing him. He has no integrity. If he did have any he would have returned the hundreds of millions & said sorry.

  20. While I agree with most of what you say, the fact you keep mentioning these are all found in nature is beside the point. All medications are based on natural molecules and exist in varying amounts in nature. That is not what makes supplements different from drugs.

  21. Hey Marcel, you got the thing with VidD not quite right. They discuss a change in UL of supplements. 100 ug for Vit D, I think which still is 4000 IU. Same for Vit B6 and B9 and Se. The formulas for the supplements will change but there will not be a ban. Besides it took them 22 yrs to get to this point so I trust in EUs slow moves. Du machst die Pferde scheu! IT undermine so your credibility.

  22. Honestly, at this point, I think it will be Artificial General Intelligence that solves aging, there’s just too much back and forth in the medical community and it takes people way to long to test all these supplements out. I’m with the AI guys on this one, the longevity field has been a major disappointment and pales in comparison to what the AI field is going through right now.

  23. I said before. Marcel has to walk this strange tightrope with Sinclair. This video simply proves my point. His channel and 15 minutes of fame is directly tied to it.

Stanfield stated nothing but facts. Marcel is 80% opinion. It’s imperative to recognize the difference

  24. Not a big fan of Stanfield but he was right to expose a sequence of events which left David Sinclair with obscene wealth. I note that Brad has replied to many comments here but David is as quiet as a mouse. Personally I separated from Sinclair when I heard him say in a recent interview ' Oh, I'm just a research Phd stuck in a lab, l know nothing about business ' I find that level of duplicity unacceptable.
