Man held with ammunition and marijuana

A 43-year-old man is in custody after he was found to be in possession of 28 kilogrammes of marijuana and 89 rounds of assorted ammunition.

The suspect was arrested yesterday evening by a team of officers from the Central Division Task Force (Area South) led by Sgt Persad.

The officers made their way to a home in Claxton Bay where they executed a search warrant.

There the drugs and ammunition – comprising of 50 rounds of .40mm and 39 rounds of .38mm – were found.

As a result of the find, the suspect was immediately detained.

He is expected to be questioned today and brought before a magistrate on Monday.
